Succulents are beginner-friendly plants when you give them bright light, fast-draining soil, and time to dry between waterings.

Place your succulent near a bright window and rotate it occasionally so it grows evenly. Water deeply, then let the soil dry out before watering again. A pot with a drainage hole helps prevent root rot.

Watch the leaves for clues: soft, yellow leaves can mean too much water, while wrinkled leaves often mean the plant is thirsty. Make small changes and give the plant time to respond.
